Sharpening steps:
- Put the grindstone in water for 5 minutes.
- For blunt knives, firstly sharpen with #3000 surface, then using #8000.
- When grinding, hold the knife at 10 – 30 degrees, then grind with a small force on the surface of stone back and forth until the tool is sharp. Relatively sharp knife can be directly used on #8000 surface.
- Use a damp cloth or water to rinse grindstone and cutter, then dry water and stored in a well ventilated place.

3000 Grit Side:
This fine grit is able to put an edge on a tool or knife that exceeds just about any commercial edge you’ll find. This grit is very fine and sharpen very slowly. This is to be used after you’ve created an edge with more coarse grits.
8000 Grit Side:
This grit is ideal for finishing and polishing the edge. A knife or tool that has been sharpened to this stage will work for any task required.
Tips:
- Please make full use of the surface not just the middle part, or you need flat honing stones to fix it.
- Keep serrated blades and ceramic knives away from it.
